All of the ski areas are close to Tamsweg: From here at the Gambswrt, you are barely 10 minutes by car, ski bus or our own hotel ski shuttle from ski resorts such as the Grosseck-Speiereck outside Mauterndorf, Aineck-Katschberg outside St. Margarethen and the Fanningberg in Mariapfarr. You are roughly 25 minutes from the famous and almost always snowy ski resort of Obertauern, as well as half an hour from the Turracher Höhe (straddling Carinthia and Styria) and the Kreischberg-Murau ski area. Rent your ski equipment from a local sporting goods store here in Tamsweg or at your chosen ski resort. With the distinct advantage that you will have less luggage to lug around and have the very latest ski equipment on the market today.
